Commenting on the project, Tom Kunkle, Project Manager for SRI stated; ” It’s seldom roofing companies get the chance to be involved in projects of this nature. Typically, buildings of this age are demolished” The project duration was from August 2012 until March 2013. Stonebrook completed the project with no safety accidents or lost time days due to injury.
Ben Eberle, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for SRI further remarked; “It is hard to assess the outcome of this project without the dedication of all those involved with this project. Stonebrook and the Yankton County Historical Society worked extremely close together to make this project a success.”
The Mead Building is being renovated into the Dakota Territorial Museum as well as events center. Fund raising events and donations are being pursued for additional renovation aspects to complete the project.
